“Three days cultural fest in Saraswati Vidyalaya Pre Primary School”

Three days cultural fest was organized in Saraswati Vidyalaya Pre Primary Department. First day’s event, “Ubuntu- Humanity to others” presented by

KG II students was  based on helpers who contribute directly or indirectly in our lives viz. farmers, doctors, firefighters, police personnels, armed forces, tailor, barber, cobbler, teachers etc. Around  175 students participated.

Around 150 students participated in the second day event,

“Change –the only Constant” which highlighted the four seasons- summer, rainy, winter and autumn. Students presented skits, dances, songs which they depicted the change that takes place in environment, clothes, food habit with change in season.

The third day event was presented by around 130 nursery kids who took us into the world of animals, “Jhingala- The Animal Kingdom”. Snow animals, jungle animals, farm animals and water animals were the themes. Students presented the various habitats, food they eat, their young ones and their shelters through songs, dances and role plays. The three days event received overwhelming response from parents. 

Kila making competition held in Saraswati VIdyalaya Pre Primary Department

Saraswati Vidyalaya Pre primary department organized Fort making activity for the conductresses on 26th Oct, 2024 in the school campus. The purpose of organizing this event was to make students aware of the importance of forts in ruling the empire. This also helped in understanding the glorious rule of Maratha Empire  which was founded by the Great King  Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj along with his mavlas.

The participants started gathering eco friendly material like clay, sand, bricks, paper, cardboard etc. as the pre-requisites for the kila. Layout of the fort was meticulously  planned after thorough research. Innovative ideas for constructing the fort and decorating it was evident from the display. The making of the kilas, significance of the kilas and material used for making was explained by the team leaders of each group. Group 2 with Kiran, Savita, Heera, Manisha and Rani won the first prize for replicating Sindhudurg. Group 1 with Shalini, Seema, Nalu, Sonali and Bharti won the second prize for Murud Janjira and the third prize went to Savita, Kavita, Chanda, Asha and Nanda of Group 3 for depicting Pratapgarh fort.

The efforts of all the participants was well appreciated by President, SIES,

Shri.T.K. Venkatesh, Vice President, Shri. V. Shankaran, Hon. Secretary, Smt. V. Meenakshi, Jt. Secretary. Adv. Dr. R. S. Sundaram, Treasurer, Shri. R. Ganesh and all the other members. Co-ordinator, Shri. S. Praburaman gave away the prizes. Also present were , HM. Secondary, Smt. Pushpa Anantanarayan, HM. Primary, Resmi Umesh and Supervisor, Shri. Ravi Kulkarni. The event received overwhelming response from students, teachers and visitors. The efforts of the participants was well appreciated.

Angels at Work

Angels of pre primary department were in full enthusiasm when they presented skits and role plays based on learning outcome on the eve of navaratri celebration. Nursery class children presented the concepts of big and small, square and circle shapes, story of Thirsty crow and many more. KG I students went on a tour to Sharmaji’s farm, where they saw how vegetables are grown, and KG II students presented a skit on Vahana- The mounts, wherein they presented a skit and role play on the animals and birds that they have learnt also having significance in mythology. Outstanding learning outcome performance by the students of pre primary. Navaratri festival got its meaning.

A Day spent with pets

It is said that you have not lived your life if you have not loved an animal. Students of pre primary department enjoyed their day with pets like, parrot, love birds, fishes and a cute little tortoise. They understood the habitat, food they eat and care to be given to theise pets. The sounds of different pets was thrilling for children.

Ganesha idol making workshop

Angels of Pre primary department attended a workshop on ganesha idol making with shadoo mitti and enjoyed the experience. Children learnt about the body proportion, aesthetics and linguistics. Overall a unique and innovative experience for children.

Janmaashtami Celebration in Pre Primary Department

Janma din of our beloved shri krishna was celebrated with pomp and zeal. Children dressed up as Radha and Krishna played raas lila. The pyramid formation by KG II children for breaking the dahi handi was the most thrilling experience children ever had. gopal kala was prepared by children and significance of celebrating janmashtami was well understood.

Teachers Day Celebration

The tiny tots of KG II Pre primary department stepped into the shoes of their teachers and became teachers. The topics taught were, standing line, sleeping line, poem and stories. The impact of teachers in their lives was very well seen on this occasion.

Pola Celebrations

KG I students celbratated the festival of bull with enthusiasm. Dressed up in traditional attire, they all brought their nandi bail carrying social messages. Awards were given to the best dressed student, well decorated bull and first in race bull also. The significance of the festival was well learnt by the students. The whole ambience was overwhelming with joy

Workshop on safe and unsafe touch

Yuva Saral, an NGO conducted a workshop for KG II children on safe and unsafe touch. Students were shown video clippings, demonstrated through different touch and explained the safety measures to be taken through puppet show. It was indeed an eye opener for all kids.

Patriotism & Colours

The tricolours of the indian national flag was lived by children when they all brought fruits with colours resembling the colours in the indian flag. then these children were taught to assemble the fruits in accordance with the scheme of the tricolour. Thus they learnt the arrangement of colours in our flag and also learnt the significance and importance ot adding colours to our life. Fruit salad was then relished by children.
