2016-2017

  • “Guru Poornima: was celebrated on 19th July. The story of “Eklavya & Dhronacharya” was narrated. A shloka written by Adi Sankaracharya was taught to students.
  • “Healthy Tiffin Contest” was organized by Sakal Newspaper on 22nd July. I and II prizes were awarded in each class.
  • “Apsara Pencils Co.” distributed new pencils to K.G.-II students in exchange of old used pencils.
  • “Tilak Punyathithi” was observed on 1st August 2016.Students from KG II class, enacted a play based on an incident from Tilak‘s Childhood. Mas. Dhananjay Kirnake from KG II D was dressed as Lokmanya Tilak.
  • A talk by Dr. Mrs. Jaya Shiwalkar, renowned Psychologist was organized for the parents of the Pre-Primary Department on 4th August 2016. It was very interesting and informative talk and evoked very good response from the parents.
  • A workshop was organized for Pre-Primary and Primary Teachers on 30th July 2016.
  • Smt. Rajarajeshwari from Hyderabad delivered a very informative lecture on ‘Effective Teaching and Active Learning’.
  • “Independence Day” was celebrated on 15th August 2016. Ku. Aanandi Hirashe delivered a speech in Hindi and group song in Bengali was presented by K.G.-II students.
  • Raksha Bandhan was celebrated on 19th August 2016. Children came in colourful dresses. Girls tied “Rakhis” to the boys. “Rakhi” making competition was conducted for K.G.-II class.
  • Tanha Pola was celebrated on 1st September. Children came dressed in traditional attire with decorated Puja Thalis.
  • “Teacher’s day” was celebrated K.G. II students dressed up as teachers, took classes for the juniors. Importance and value of elders and teachers was explained.
  • Children participatedin the first round of Bhagwat Gita Chanting held by “Chinmaya Mission” on the 17th September 2016. They were all presented with certificates.
  • “Greeting Card” making Competition was held on 29th September 2016 for the students of K.G.II class. The best entries were selected and prizes were distributed
  • Two students were selected in the final round of Bhagavat Gita chanting. They were presented with certificates and books.
  • A Cultural Programme was organized during Navaratri festival. Dr. Bindu Marar of “Orange City Hospital and Research Institute” was the Chief Guest. A large Number of children from KG II participated in the colorful musical presentation based on “Dashavatar”. The programme was appreciated and enjoyed by all.
  • A lecture was arranged for Pre-Primary Department teachers by Dr. Ajay Mehta about “Types of cancer and their prevention”.
  • “Diwali” was celebrated on the last day that is, 27th October with the kids by distribution of sweets.
  • Twenty seven children from K.G. I and K.G. II classes were selected and went for final drawing and coloring competition by ‘Rajaram Dixit Library, Nagpur’.
  • “Children’s Day” was celebrated with an introduction about ‘Chacha Nehru’ by the teacher and distributing chocolates to the children.
  • Social Gathering 2016 was held on Dec 8th. A colorful variety programme was presented. Around 350 students participated in the programme. It was appreciated by one and all.
  • Ku. Ashmita Pillai from K.G. I B won a Gold Medal at the “Taekwondo Championship 2016” organized by “Taekwondo Association of Nagpur District, Nagpur”.
  • Eight children participated in the ‘Bhartiyar Day’ celebration organized by South Indian Association on 15th Dec 2016. They presented a song by ‘Subramaniam Bhartiyar’.
  • 18 children from K.G.I and K.G.II won the drawing and Coloring competition conducted by “Rajaram Dixit Library”. Ku. Bhumi Dhoke of K.G.II E won the Third prize and a cash prize of Rs.300.
  • The children of K.G.I and K.G.II were taken for picnic to Butibori garden on 26 th Dec 2016. Around three hundred students joined the picnic. Breakfast and lunch was provided to all the students.
  • English rhymes, Hindi rhymes, Drawing and Coloring competition and Shloka competition were conducted for the students of Nursery, K.G.I and K.G.II. Handwriting competition was held for the students of K.G.II only. Two prize winners were announced from each section.
  • 16 children from K.G.II participated in Thiruppavai recitation conducted by “Ramanuja Sabha” at Bhagwat Pada Sabha.
  • Republic day was celebrated with great fervor. A musical dumb-bell PT was presented along with an “OM” formation by the students of K.G.II.
  • The children of Nursery class of all the branches were taken for a picnic to Traffic Park. Snacks were distributed to all the children. The children enjoyed the outing.
  • A workshop on ‘Phonetics’ was conducted by Jt. Secretary, S.I.E.S., Smt.V. Meenakshi for the teachers of the Pre- Primary and Primary Department.
  • A Colour Day was celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm by all the Nursery classes. A food item of the same colour was brought by all the children. Each class was allotted a different colour.
  • “The Founders Day and the Tamil Day” was celebratedon 19th February 2017. The kids of the Pre- Primary Department presented few poems with little bit of dramatization. Around 40 students participated in the programme.
  • An Inter School Fancy Dress Competition was organized by the Pre-Primary Department. 40 students from 20 schools participated in the competition. Dr. K.S. Bhanu was the Chief Guest. Smt. Sandhya Jagadeesh and Smt. Padma Kumar judged the competition.
  • Various sports competitions were conducted for all the classes of the Pre-Primary Department. Various events like flat race, biscuit race, musical chair and basket race were conducted. I and II prizes were won by each class.
  • A workshop on Phonetics was conducted by “Mrs. Shaily Gambhir”.
  • A Bhel Preparation activity was held on 10th and 15th for Nursery, K.G. I and K.G.II classes. Children were asked to bring the ingredients for the same.
  • A movie was shown to Nursery, K.G.I and K.G.II classes.
  • Prizes for various competitions and sports events were distributed to winners by the Incharge Mrs.Jyostna Chari.
