Saraswati Vidyalaya Celebrates 131st Foundation Years of Educational Excellence

Saraswati Vidyalaya, a venerable Tamil linguistic minority institution run by the South Indian Education Society (Est.in1894), commemorated its 131st Foundation Year with a grand celebration on Sunday, February 23rd, 2025. The esteemed gathering witnessed the presence of Smt. Lakshmi M.L., A.G.M. Banking Department, Reserve Bank of India, Nagpur, as the chief guest. Shri. T.K. Venkatesh, President SIES presided over the function. The chief guest. Smt. Lakshmi M.L. was felicitated by Shri T.K. Venkatesh President along with Smt. V. Meenakshi, Hon. Secretary, and Shri. V. Shankaran, Vice President SIES. The South Indian Education Society's humble beginnings by the visionary founder Late Shri. Rao Bahadur A. Vasudev Mudaliar and later its impressive expansion, encompassing the establishment of a Junior College, Sanjeevani School for special students, an ECCE training centre, Niranjani School of Excellence of Arts was delightfully recalled. The grand celebration included a vibrant cultural program that captivated the audience. Sanjeevani school of special students presented an appealing ramp walk as well as an energetic dance on Bum Bum bole while students of Niranjani School of Arts sang Tamil composition of Mahakavi Bharathiyar and presented a captivating Indian classical Bharatanatyam dance on the theme Swagatam Krishna and Pushpanjali with participation of 80 students. Pre-primary students gave a divine presentation of Dash avatar of Vishnu on a Tamil song. Primary school students forcefully recited shlokas and Tamil verses. The high school and Jr. college students performed a skit in Tamil based on the Thiruvaiadal from Indian mythology mesmerizing every heart and soul attending the grand celebration. In her address, the chief guest, Smt. Lakshmi M.L., commended the school for its par excellence in education and its pivotal role in shaping generation of students. She highly appreciated the equal opportunities given by the school to the students for their educational, cultural and social growth. She also appreciated that the school management gives flexibility and liberty to teachers which helps in adopting innovative mythology in grooming students. Shri T.K. Venkatesh, President SIES, delivered an insightful speech highlighting the school's remarkable achievements of glorious 131 years which is a result of combined efforts of the management and the staff.
